The unique creation of Gomel Palace and Park Ensemble depicts the Gomel architecture to its best. The architecture of Gomel flourished from the 18th to mid 19th century. The Palace of the Rumyantsevs-Paskevichs was constructed in the neo-classic style and is a popular tourist attraction in Gomel. The park along this palace was laid out during the 18th century with statues depicting romantic elements extending for 800m along the right bank of the Sozh River. The Gomel Chapel was built in pseudo-Russian style at the end of the 19th century.

Some more architectural monuments in Gomel includes St Peter and Paul’s (Petropavlovskiy) Cathedral built in1819, the wooden building of St Elijah’s or Ilyinskaya, Orthodox Church of 1793 and many more. The best example being the Krasniy Bereg settlement restored in the Modernist style, that was popular during the end of the 19th century.
