Sydney State Theater is a major source of entertainment for the people. This is the Empire’s Greatest Theater of all times. On 7th June 1929, Sydney State Theater was opened to the public. The national trust of Australia considers this beautiful architectural monument, a building of historical importance. The Sydney State Theater is operated by the Greater Union Organization.
This colossal building was designed by Henry White. To make the building look like a palace, this great designer combined the Gothic and Italian art forms. The different features of Sydney’s State Theater are grand and exotic. The Kohinoor chandelier inside the theater is around four tones in weight and is considered to be the world’s second largest.

Stuart Doyle, who owns the Union Theater, first conceived idea of the State Theater in Sydney. The opening ceremony included the performance of Will Prior. The first movie that was shown in the theater was “The Patriot”. The State Beauty Ballet and Rene Maxwell performed during the 1930’s at this State Theater.
The bookings at Sydney State Theater can be done anytime between 9 AM and 5 PM every day except for the weekends. However, on the day of a performance the booking time is extended till 8 PM in the night.
