St Marys Cathedral in Sydney is a beautiful home of the religious Catholic community in Sydney. This cathedral was constructed in the 13th century and is dedicated to Virgin Mary. 'Our Lady Help of Christians' was the title given to the statue. This statue of Mother Mary was donated to Sydney's St Marys Cathedral during the 19th century. Although it looks like a French cathedral, it is designed in the typical Gothic style.
The originally constructed structure of the cathedral had been destroyed by fire in 1865, but was later renovated in three stages. In 1882, the northern portion of the building was completed while the central tower and the Nave were completed in 1900 and 1928 respectively. The spires were added to the building sometime between the year1998 and 2000.
The cathedral is 107 m in length. The central tower is 46.3 high while front tower and spires of he cathedral are 74.6 meters in height.

On the exterior portion, certain features like the flying buttresses designed in the channel and the nave, carved text of the Ave Maria on the walls, canopies and statues, carvings of the saintly heads and the figures of the gargoyles on the turrets and towers distinctly attract the attention of the visitors.
