Powerhouse Museum is one of the tourist destinations in Sydney. The museum was opened in the year 1988. Initially, the Powerhouse Museum was known as the Ultima Power Station. This power house was built to supply power to trams running in the city. The major attractions of this museum are the Catalina Flying Boat and Locomotive 3830.

Powerhouse Museum Sydney has 22 rooms where exhibitions are held. Besides the permanent exhibitions in the museum, there are five rooms that host temporary exhibitions. Visitors can see the extensive collections bearing witness to Australia's culture and heritage and country's advancement in science and technology at the Powerhouse Museum. The Strasburg Clock is another favorite exhibit to the visitors of Powerhouse Museum Sydney. This clock is about hundred years old but still has a well maintained mechanism.

Powerhouse Museum Sydney has arranged special attractions for kids. It has a program known as Kids Interactive Discovery Spaces. Children below the age of eight can participate in this fun program. Here many interactive events are held for children visiting the museum. Children can also visit King's Cinema with their parents.
