Officially, the Seven Network came into existence on
the 2nd of December 1956, when the VHF frequency became operational in Melbourne and Sydney. Presently, the Seven Network Channel can be viewed from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide and also certain other regions of Australia.

The Seven Network, Sydney airs both news programs and other sorts of entertainment. The studio for these two types of programs is different. News and current affairs shoots are held in Martin Place, while other main programs are shot in Epping based studio. The head quarters of Seven Network is presently in Jones Bay Wharf Pyrmont, though there are plans to shift the location of the headquarters.
