Mix 106.5

The Mix 106.5 is one of the oldest radio stations of Sydney; the earliest broadcast dating back to 1925. It is one of the few AM channels to have converted to an FM channel because of its high popularity. This was formerly known by the name of 2UW and at this point of time it was not apart of the FM radio channel.

The 2UW was operational at 1107 KHz on the AM band. The new name of MIX and the unique logo of this radio station were adopted from the United States. After the change of the radio station from the AM band to the FM group of radios, the frequency of 1107 KHz was granted to SBS radio.

Interestingly, the talk show hosts of the Mix 106.5 were known by the name of ‘11-10 men'. The conversion to the Mix 106.5 took place in the year 1994.

It is among the twelve radio channels under the banner of Australian radio network. The music that is played on this radio station is exclusively pop music. The interesting talk shows coupled with the fabulous selection of music have made the Mix 106.5 one of the most in -demand Sydney radio networks.
