The 2WS like some other FM channels was previously played on AM band. At the time when the 2WS was played from AM band, it was transmitted on 1224 KHz. This frequency has now been granted to 2RPH. This radio channel is among the twelve radio stations owned by the Australian Radio Network. The AM band frequency has now been allotted 2RPH, a print handicapped radio station.
