UE Sydney

2 UE Sydney is the oldest among the commercial radio stations of Sydney. It was launched in 1925 and was granted the license on 1924. In 1942, a modern transmitter,
the best of its kind in the Commonwealth nations was used for the broadcasting the 2 UE programs. Presently, the transmitter is based at Concord West for offering coverage to this radio station. The transmitter was formerly located at the Lillipilli Port Hacking. The office of the 2 UE Radio Station is located at Savoy House, 29 Bligh Street. The various programs of the 2 UE Sydney are meant to bring the people of Sydney to one platform and build a community feeling among the listeners.

The radio channel holds news programs, sports broadcasting programs, talk shows on different subjects and of course music.
The 2 UE Sydney was founded by C.V. Stevenson and the chairman is Sir John Butter. These two personalities along with R. field and M.H. Stevenson are the four directors of the 2 UE Sydney radio station. Some of the very popular 2 UE radio jockeys include Ron Morse, Allan Toohey, Clif Cary, George Nicholls, Erich Wright, Sl. Meredith, Ken Howard and Mabel Filmer to name a few of them.
