2SER Sydney

2SER Sydney is a unique radio station of Sydney, which is the property of Macquarie University and the University of Technology. It is also called the Real Radio. This radio network is literally run with funds contributed by these two universities. This community based radio network has been launched with certain definite goals other than just entertainment.
Education and inquiry are the chief topics of discourse.
The 2SER has successfully brought together different communities based in Sydney to an interactive platform.

The Objectives of 2SER Sydney

• Broadcasting different genres of music so as to attract the interest of all races of people of Sydney.
• Bringing new and important ideas to the forefront
• Educating and spreading mass consciousness among the less privileged people.
• Providing a platform for interactive education via the radio.
• Promoting station activities among the members of radio so as to hold more educative programs.

This 2SER radio operates at a frequency of 107.0 KHz. It was established in the year 1979 and went on air from October 1st of the same year. The launch of this radio was supported by hundreds of people from Sydney. In fact all the universities of Sydney had extended their support for the launch of this exclusively educational radio network.

This, unlike most of the commercial radio channels do not function 24 hours a day. The broadcasting office of the 2SER 107.3 FM is based at a building in Broadway, Ultimo, and New South Wales 2007.
