Auburn Hospital in Sydney started its operation in the health care sector in the year 1907. At that time it was known as Granville Electorate Cottage Hospital and consisted of only 18 beds. In the year 1911, the doctors performed 24 major operations in this hospital. Later in the year 1920, the hospital name was rechristened to its present name.
