Sydney Fish Markets

Sydney Fish Markets offers a wide variety of fresh fishes to all their customers. Local people as well as the travelers from across the world come here to buy fresh fish. The seafood dishes at the restaurants of Sydney are quire expensive and so the tourists are always advised to buy fish from this market so that they can prepare it on their own and can enjoy a mouth-watering dish at a low cost.

The Sydney Fish Market was set up by the government of New South Wales in the year 1945. In the initial years, all fishes which came to the port were required to be sold through the Sydney fish markets.
In 1994, the Fish Market of Sydney became a private body and in the year 1999, the selling of seafood items via the Sydney Fish Market was no more compulsory. Currently, the Sydney Fish Market has more than 100 species of fishes and the produce in these markets comes from both national and international markets.

The Sydney Fish Market is situated at Pyrmont, Australia and is considered to be the biggest fish market in the Southern Hemisphere so while roaming around the Australian city of Sydney do not miss a chance to visit this market area.
