Big Day Out is the iconic annual music festival that had its origin in the year 1992 at Sydney. Thousands of musicians and artists from all over the globe participate in the Big Day Out festival, which is held at the Homebush Bay’s RAS Showground every year in the month of January. This festival tours various parts of Australia and New Zealand like Adelaide, Gold Coast, Auckland, Melbourne and Perth.
The Big Day Out festival began as a musical show, which was to be held only in Sydney. In 1993, the festival was expanded in other Australian cities including Perth, Melbourne and Adelaide. In the year 1997, the other venues of Big Day Out included Auckland, Gold Coast and New Zealand were added in the list.

There are multiple performances at one time that are held on the huge stages erected for the festival. The most common feature of Big Day Out is the “Boiler Room”. The Boiler Room at Big Day Out is a big circus-style tent where electronically jammed performances are held.
The Big Day Out has always been the best platform to showcase various talents. Some of the greatest names to have featured in the Big Day Out are Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Nirvana, Metallica, Marilyn Menson, The White Strips, DJ James Murphy, MU, Tool, Muse, Justice, Trivium, Evermore, Little Birdy and others.
