The Victorian Arts Center or in other words, the Arts Center is a theater complex along with a concert hall. The Arts Center comprises the
Melbourne Concert Hall, the state theater, the Playhouse and the George Fairfax Studio. It is located in the Southgate precinct of Melbourne. This has been designed by Sir Roy Grounds. The first unit of the Arts Center, which was opened up for public viewing in the year 1982, was the Hamer Hall. Then after two years, in 1984, the theater buildings opened. The construction of the Victorian Arts Center was initiated in 1973 though the approval for its construction was granted in 1973.
