It is proud of its glorious history, as it continued to expand its network of buses and coaches to Yass Town and Yass Junction and also included Cootamundra and Canberra stations.
The Transborder Express in Canberra is owned by the Williams families of Yass and Canberra and their predecessors, Yass - Canberra Passenger and Freight Service and Yass - Canberra Coaches. They had a 51 year connection, while running buses and coaches that link up long distance trains. The business of Transborder Express at Canberra was actually started by Mr Jack Williams, father of Max Williams, the present Managing Director. On 1st July 1954, Jack Williams started his business by buying a mail and passenger car that operated between Canberra and Yass. An eleven seater International K3 was included in the business by Jack to expand the service.
In February 1992, Transborder Express Pty Ltd received accreditation with the New South Wales Department of Transport. Presently, this passenger transport system provides coach connections to CountryLink trains that arrive at Yass Junction, Canberra and Cootamundra and Perisher Blue Skitube trains at Bullocks Flat.
