The gallery plays both an instructional and an educational role. The School of Art Gallery in Canberra plays an important role within the Australian Capital Territory art community. The main exhibition space and the adjacent foyer access area are the two parts of the gallery. The elegant interiors of the Canberra School of Art Gallery are tempting. The gallery has a clean and a spacious look. Walls of the gallery are bricks painted in white.
The floor is done with dark brown parquet tiles, which complement the colors. The floor area has three movable wood partitions, painted in white. Ceilings of the gallery have large exposed air conditioning ducts and exposed beams and lighting. Adjustable halogen spots, halogen wall floods and incandescent spots provide lighting in this art gallery.
