The Australian National Botanic Gardens in Canberra is one of the most beautiful natural attractions of the country, which is dedicated completely towards studying,
looking after and promoting the flora of Australia. It is situated at the base of Black Mountain in Acton.

Walking through the lush vegetation and interesting species of plants in Australian National Botanic Gardens proves to be a heavenly experience for all. The gardens house all the endemic plants of Australia that add up to 6,800 species in all. The gardens sprawl over an expansive area of 40 hectares.

For visitors there are special climatic zones which are created so that they can enjoy a walk through all kinds of vegetation such as rain forest, desert, and mountain. Thus the Rainforest Gully, the Eucalypt Lawn, the Rock Gardenand the Mallee Shrublands of Australian National Botanic Gardens are fantastic spots for exploration.

The opening hours of Australian National Botanic Gardens are from 8.30 AM to 5.00 PM. It remains open on all days of the week. In the months of January and February, the gardens are kept open till 6 PM.
