The location of Canberra Museum and Gallery is at the London Circuit near the Civic Square.

This gallery celebrates the nation's social history and excellence of visual arts through unique community shows and events. The archives of Canberra Museum and Gallery mainly deal with all the commodities related to the social history of the place. The gallery was inaugurated on 13 February, 1998.

A permanent collection called the Reflecting Canberra in Canberra Museum and Gallery is featured ever since 14 February, 2001. This exhibition regularly updates with the changing events in the Australian society.

Among other attractions of the exhibition, the display works of the Canberra bushfires of 2003 have witnessed innumerable visitors. The Canberra Museum and Gallery mainly focus at achieving the historical, social, artistic and environmental elements of Canberra. "Canberra's Identity", "A Sense of Place", and "Canberra's Cultural Diversity" are some of the famous themes of the Gallery.

There are many art galleries located on the first two floors of the building, which exhibits masterpieces of paintings, photography and other works of art. Ever since its foundation, the Canberra Museum and Gallery had held almost 158 exhibitions. Entry to this gallery is free and the interested individuals can become members. There is also a Resource Center within the building.
