Canberra Commonwealth Park

Commonwealth Park at Canberra is a huge recreational park, located on the northern portion of Lake Burley Griffin. The Park
can be accessed very easily either by a car or a boat and there is a pedestrian footbridge to reach the Civic center of Canberra.

Commonwealth Park sprawls over an area between Commonwealth Avenue and Anzac Parade. It was developed during the 1960s, since then the park has been an interesting venue for major events, gatherings and functions celebrated at Canberra. During the summer season, weekly performances are held in the Park especially on Sundays and annually in the month of March the park is the site for the Canberra Festival

Commonwealth Park Canberra offers play areas, parking facilities, a large picnic area, public toilets and many more. It also has an amphitheater, paddling pools, waterfalls, and a walking path round the park. The park has a large pond with waterlilies bordered by weeping willow trees with a beautiful bridge.

The Commonwealth Park in Canberra is a venue for Floriade, Canberra's annual spring flower festival. Tourists and local people indulge in popular pastimes like jogging, cycling, walking around the lake. The Regatta Point Restaurant offers meals and snacks to the visitors.
