Paghman

Situated in the hills of Kabul, Paghman is a small town and is the hub of the Paghman district of Kabul. Many noted personalities were born in this province including Hafizullah, King Amanullah and others. Paghman was once very famous as a historical site but due to several conflicts in the country it has been severely destroyed.

In the year 1928, King Amanullah of Afghanistan redesigned the Kabul City after his tour of Europe and Iran. Foreign experts were called in to redevelop the city. At that time Paghman was a small village situated at the base of the Hind Kush. Over the years,
this village turned into a popular holiday retreat replete with chalets and villas. Presently, Paghman has become one of the most important tourist attractions of Afghanistan.

Many German and French architects redesigned many buildings in western Kabul. After these constructions, the Paghman town of Kabul soon became the battle ground of the Mujaheddins. The relics of the town are still found in Kabul. The town has become the most famous summer resort of Afghanistan. While going for a trip in Afganistan, the Paghman garden is must add itinerary in your travel list.
