Located at the heart of Central Asia, Kabul is easily accessible from Middle Eastern, Central and South Asian countries. Based on the economic needs of the country, trade in Kabul has shown a steady growth over the recent years. It is coming up as one of the significant centers of international trade especially due to its strategic location. Kabul can be called the "commercial gateway of Central Asia" as a result of flourishing trade and commerce in the city.
Kabul industries include rayon and wool mills, food processing plants, furniture factories, marble works etc. The industries produce various products like textiles, chemicals, processed food, wood products etc. Though Kabul has the most developed industrial sector in Afghanistan, it lacks the environment required for industrial development. Yet, Kabul trade is growing and it is getting connected to the rest of the world.
