Languages Spoken in Kabul



Kabul is inherited by people of different ethnic groups. There are a number of Languages in Kabul. While some of the languages are only spoken some have scripts. Different languages are used in different region.

Some of the Languages in Kabul are:

Aimaq: It includes Dari Persian dialects though some Turkic and Mongolian elements can be found.

Ashkun: This language does not have any script.

Arabic: It is one of the famous languages of Kabul. Most of the literary work are written in this language. Arabic literature is world famous.

Wotapuri-Katarqalai: Kohistani, Muslim and Dardic people speak this language.

Warduji: It is a Persian dialect.

Wakhi: This language is not much widespread.

Waigali: It is spoken by Indo-Aryan, Muslim and Nuristani.

Uzbek: This is one of the literary languages of Kabul.

Uyghur: It is mainly used by the Sunni Muslim.

Turkmen: This literary language is used in newspaper.

Tirahi: This language is spoken by Muslim, Kohistani and Dardic.

Tatar: This language is mainly spoken by the immigrants.

Farsi: It is one of the widely spoken language of Kabul.

Tangshewi: It is spoken by the Darwazi people.

Sanglechi-Ishkashimi: It was widely spoken by people. But at present it is not much used.

Pashto: This is the most widely spoken language of Kabul.

Mogholi: A few people also speak in this language.

Kabul languages also include Malakhel, Pashayi, Kirghiz, Kazakh, Karakalpak, Kamviri, Jakati, Gujari, Hazaragi, Gawar-Bati, Darwazi, Brahui, Balochi and Azerbaijani.
