Christmas Around The World

Christmas around the world is celebrated by Christians in their own unique style. Every region, country, city etc, has
some special traditions to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ.

Today, Christmas has become a huge annual global celebration, with even non-believers taking part. One of the main reasons for the popularity of Christmas around the world is because there are a number of secular traditions associated with the celebrations.

Christmas is the most important festival for Christians across the globe. It is an occasion for family, fun, religion, bonhomie and exchanging Christmas gifts with loved ones. Christmas traditions across the world consist of receiving and giving gifts. However, the traditions do differ in some places in terms of the day of exchange gifts and also who brings the gifts. Santa Claus is perhaps the most popular Christmas image; but around the world he is known by different names.

Christmas celebrations in United Kingdom and United States along with some other countries reflect different traditions. While some of them reflect religious beliefs, some of them also represent the other aspects of the local lifestyle. Many of the classical traditions, which have become a part of Christmas celebrations across the world, had originated in England. Christmas food is another important aspect of the celebrations. Across the world, people have their traditional dishes which are specially made for this day.
