Jiangxi


Lying beside the river Yangtze , on its southern side, in its middle and lower reaches, the province of Jiangxi , spans across a total area of 166,900 square kilometers. The Jiangxi province experiences a sub-tropical climate where summers can be extremely hot and humid while winters are very snowy. The average climate of the place is warm and humid. The average annual temperature of the place is around 16 degrees centigrade which experiences a sharp incline with a progression from north to south. The average annual rainfall Jiangxi experiences is around 1300-200 mm. The capital city of Nanchang has till date recorded to be the hottest of all the cities in Jiangxi.

The population of Jiangxi province alone is 41.40 millions but even then Jiangxi is one of the lesser populated cities of China. The dominant ethnic group residing in Jiangxi is the Han community who account for 99% of the total population of the province. There also 38 other ethnic groups residing in Jiangxi.

Jiangxi stands out above the other provinces of China in being China's capital of porcelain , found mostly in Jingdezhen, and Jiangxi is also the capital of rice and fish. In fact, nature has endowed Jiangxi with bountiful natural resources and also exotic beauty. The Lushan mountains has lend the place a divine charm and its mineral resources has turned it into the greatest producer of minerals.

Jiangxi is also noted in history for being the the birthplace of the the Liberation Army of China, in fact, Jiangxi's tryst with intellect goes back to the Tengwang Pavilion, which stands proof to the numerous men of letters that the place had yielded.

Although Jiangxi is one of the lesser developed provinces of China, yet, it meets a worldwide demand for porcelain. The economy is largely agriculture based but the people of the place are penowned as being highly industrious.
