Nanjing in Jiangsu is also known as one of the four “furnace cities”. Nanjing, being one of the ancient capitals is also the governmental heart of Jiangsu. It was the political hub of the Ming dynasty.
Presently today it is the multinational corporations. Its position near the Yangzi River has turned it into a trade and shipping centre.

Summers in Nanjing are very hot and humid with winters being cold. Tourists are recommended not to visit Nanjing in summers. It has an annual temperature of 13 C to 16 C. The rainfall is heavy in summer.

The history of Nanjing is rich and intricate. It was an agricultural area. It consecutively became the capital of many rulers. The evidence of Buddhist culture is also found here.

The Mausoleum of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, the tomb of Dr. Sun Yat-sen is also apart of the tourist destination. Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum which is the tomb of Zhu Yuan Zhang attracts tourists' .The Qinhuai River, Yu Hua Tai and Qixia Scenic Spot attracts tourists from all over China and abroad.

The brocade of Nanjing is very famous. It also has some big metal foundries. The Yangtze River Bridge is an important tourist destination. There are towers, watch towers, decks and elevators on the bridge. The yulan lamps enhance the beauty of the bridge at night.

Natural and artificial landscapes add to the beauty of Nanjing. Being the international commercial port Nanjing has a major role in the economic development of China. Nanjing is also famous for its research institutes.
