Requirements for Chinese Visa

A Visa is an indispensable document for any International travel. Naturally, even in China the Visa is the most important thing for entering the country and therefore the requirements for a Chinese Visa are to be well understood and instructions well followed. The acquisition of a Visa involves a proper procedure of application followed by an interview. Visas can be of many kinds depending on the purpose and the duration of a persons visit, these include:

  • Official Visa
  • Business Visa
  • Tourist Visa
  • Students Visa
  • Employment Visa
  • Transit Visa

The Visa is issued by the Consulate of the target country and depending on the nature of the Visa a person's right and duration of stay in the foreign country is decided. It is at the Chinese consulate where the application for a Chinese Visa is to be submitted and it is at the same place that the interview is held. It is completely at the discretion of the Chinese Foreign Ministry that a Visa is conferred to an individual. So it is advisable to properly produce all the requirements for a Chinese Visa . The requirements for a Chinese Visa vary according to the purpose of visit and the category of Visa applied for. However there are certain requirements for a Chinese Visa that are common for all kinds of Visas, these include:

  • A passport valid for at least 6 months
  • A complete application form
  • Passport sized photographs
  • Proof of itinerary for tourists
  • Proof of sufficient funds
  • Proof of acceptance from a Chinese institute for students
  • Medical test for those planning to live for more than six months
  • Those applying for a business Visa must produce a proof of invitation from a Chinese Governmental Department or a Government approved Company.
However, even after all these documents and requirements for a Chinese Visa are provided the Consulate may refuse a Visa to an individual and is also not obliged to show reasons for its decision.
