Chinese Air Force is the branch of aviation of the armed forces of the Republic of China on Taiwan. It is considered to be one of the most professional and efficient branches of the armed forces of the Republic of China. The Republic Of China Air Force's main goal is the defense of the airspace around Taiwan. It mainly gives protection against surprise attacks. The Chinese air force also prioritizes the development of observation and recognition of enemy. Currently it is working hard on its battle strategies and their effectiveness.
In May 2005, the National Defense Ministry has given indications to transfer command of all the defensive missile activities to the Republic Of China Air Force, while the future offensive missiles was planned to be placed under an unformed missile command. The structure of the Chinese Air Force was modeled after the air force of the United States.

The war equipments of the Chinese Air Force include 400 combat aircraft, F-5s, F-16 and F-CK-1 IDFs, with the Mirage-2000s. Most of them are imported from the United States.
