Bankof China Tower is one of the most well known tall building situated in the central part of Hong Kong. It is the headquarter of the Bank of China Limited. The architecture of this skyscraper has been done by I. M. Pei . The height of this building is around 315 meters. The 2 masts of it has reached approximately 369 meters. It is a 70 storied-building. The Bank of China Tower has been established in 1989 and is situated close to Central station of MTR. This is infact one of the tallest buildings in Hong Kong since 1989 to 1992. Currently it has ranked 3 rd among the tallest office buildings of Hong Kong. The 1 st and 2 nd position has been occupied by the International Finance Center and Central Plaza respectively.
The building structure of the Bank of China Tower is really good and deserves appreciation. The architecture of this building looks like growing bamboo shoots. It is symbolic to livelihood and prosperity. There are 5 steel made columns which provide support to to the whole structure. But some of the Feng Shui experts has criticized the design of this building. According to them the sharp edges of this Bank of China Tower is bringing negative energy to it. Following this criticism Pei modified the design to some extent. The formal address of the Bank of China Tower is 1 Garden Road, Central Hong Kong.
The Bank of China Tower is a marvelous mixture of modern design with traditional Chinese architecture. This building offers a breath taking scenic view of the Victoria Harbor and its four prism-shaped shafts reflect the sun light like a shinning crystal.
