Chile Beaches

Chile has a remarkably long coastline stretching for 2580 miles or 4300 km bordered by Peru and Strait of Magellan. The Chile Beaches vary from sandy to rocky or mountainous.

The topography of the Chilean coastline includes coves, wild and rocky cliffs, islands protected bays and nooks, inlets and lovely beaches. The beaches in Chile are in particular provinces which are named as Region del Libertador O'Higgins and South of Region VI.

The Humboldt Current flows toward the north along the Chilean coast, bringing the cold waters to the surface, which makes the water sports even more enjoyable here. The two activities, which the tourists enjoy the most in the Chilean beaches, are:

  • Swimming with wet suits
  • Surfing and windsurfing with gloves and bootees
  • Scuba diving with apparatus at particular beaches

  • Some of the popular beaches in Chile are:

  • Mejillones
  • Reñaca
  • Valparaíso
  • Concón
  • Maitencillo
  • Matanzas
  • Zapallar
  • Viña del Mar
  • Cartagena

  • There are numerous beaches in Chile, providing luxurious accommodation options at reasonable rate, especially in the regions of Santiago, Middle Chile, Region del Maule, Caldera and Region VII. The travel to the Chile Beaches can be availed either through the travel agencies (who also plan the tours to the adjoining places near the beaches) or the state transport vehicles that take the vacationers to the nearest city or port from the beaches.
