Chilean companies thrive due to the market oriented approach of the government of Chile. Companies in Chile are developing a very professional outlook and an increasingly competitive spirit to survive in the cut-throat world of international business. With their emphasis on mining and shipping the companies of Chile are trying to find their own niche. The law and other rules and regulations relating to the establishment and running of companies at Chile are very conducive and even supportive of this all round growth.
The major industries of Chile are either agro-based or are heavy industries related to mining and metallurgy. However tourism, textiles and cement have also currently gained importance. Exports relating to fresh and canned fruits and vegetables are also a significant contributor to the economy. Transport equipment is also coming up fast.
The industrial sector contributes about 49.3% to the economy while employing a labor force of 23.4% and with a marked improvement in the domestic consumption pattern; this is bound to improve in the coming times.
But the two most important industrial sectors in modern Chile are the mining and shipping industries with a steep rising curve in the GDP share. In the wake of the falling inflation rates in the country it is not surprising at all, that although there are concerns of pollution regarding both these industries; they are currently in a buoyant phase.
