Chile Tradition can be judged on two completely different lively and contrastive aspects that are predominate in Chile, namely the cosmopolitan tradition popular among the urban population and the peasantry culture, which has largely influenced the Chilean music.
Chile enfolds a prospering literary tradition ever since it has produced two Nobel Prize winners in the fields of literature. The honorary poets are Gabriela Mistral and Pablo Neruda. Enriched language has always been the reason of promotion of cultural homogeneousness in Chile. The Araucanians and some Aymara minor groups are influenced by the values of the Chilean cultural identity. Chileans have always held back their own customs and traditions, even among the minority groups, in spite of receiving positive influences from others. The loyalty of Chilean tradition have been kept irrespective of any religion, whether Christian or non-Christian practices.
Another tradition in Chile is openly observed with their numerous religious festivals, which are unique in its celebrations in specific localities. Thousands of spectators come to be a part of these colorful processions. People are greeted by a hug in case of men and kiss on cheeks in case of women that shows a warm gesture. The people residing in the towns of Pomaire, La Ligua, Donihue, Quinchamali and Rari in Chile make their living from traditional handicrafts of Chile.
Not only the rural but also the urban population too are well aware of the Chile Tradition and strongly hold back to it and enrich it with some of their new innovative cultural practices.
