Chad Communications takes place through telephone, radio, television and Internet. While telephone is an important mode of inter personal communication, Radio, Television and Internet are used to communicate with mass audience. Due to the development of different communication system different parts of the country can be linked easily.
By the year 2002 there were 11,800 telephone main lines in use in Chad. The mobile cellular phones in the country had risen to 65,000 by 2003.
Radio is another medium of communication in Chad. All over the country there are 2 AM stations, 4 FM stations and 5 shortwave by 2002 catering services for the radio audiences in Chad. In 1997 there were 1.67 million radios in the country.
Television is one of the modes of communication in Chad. The total number of Television broadcast stations in Chad was 1 in the year 1997. There were 10,000 televisions in the country in the same year.
In 2002, there were 15000 Internet users and by the year 2004 there were eight Internet hosts in Chad.
The International Telecommunications are carried on by parastatal International Telecommunications Company of Chad. This company is under the Ministry of Posts and Communications, Chad. The telex service and Telephone lines between N'Djamena and Paris ensured growth and development of communication system with the international communities.
