Cameroon line is a collection of chain of volcanoes and the mountains starts from the Atlantic Ocean and ends in Cameroon. The Cameroon volcanic line started eruptions around 38 Ma ago and continuous till date. Cameroon line is a rift zone and the mountain ranges and volcanoes of this region is known as Cameroon highlands. The formation of Cameroon line relates to 80 million years ago when the African plate rotated in a counter clockwise direction. Nine volcanoes in the Cameroon line is considered in active form and the magma flow of the rift is considered for the formation of these volcanoes.
Other mountain in the Cameroon Volcanic line includes Mount Etinde, Bamboutos Mountains and Mount Manengouba. The islands formed due to the extension of Cameroon line includes Annobon, Principe, Sao Tome and Bioko.
The highland of Cameroon houses the dense Cameroon Highlands forests, Afromontane flora, Forest-Savanna Mosaic, Sudanian Savanna and the Lower Guinean forests. Thus the Cameroon mountain has an exemplary chain of mountain ranges which offers various adventurous activities. Cameroon line is one of the significant mountains of Cameroon.
