Lake Ossa is the one of the famous and popular lakes of Cameroon. The formation of Lake Ossa is the outcome of the tectonic movements of the earths crust. Lake Ossa of Cameroon is situated in the west of Edea in the Littoral Province of Cameroon and this site is appropriate for fishing and watersports.
Lake Ossa is a coastal lowland and lies in the hilly landscape, possessing a “half orange” shape.
Presently the nearby areas of Lake Ossa is inhabited by Yakalak and Ndonga people and they settled in this region during the end of 18 century. Studies and surveys keep on going in these regions of Cameroon and two archaeological sites were discovered at a height of about 70-80 m. The first site is situated in the upper portion of the bigger island of Lake Ossa whereas the second site lies at the point where Lake Ossa gets separated from Mevia.
Lake Ossa is frequently visited by the people as it offers various watersports and fishing activities and they are really an enjoyable one. Thus the Lake Ossa of Cameroon is an important tourist site.
