The Benedictine Museum of Mont-Febe in Cameroon is one of the most important tourist attractions in Cameroon. The museum houses a wide range of Camerounese art collection. In 1910, the Benedictine Museum of Mont-Febe was inaugurated. Situated in Yaounde, this museum features a unique art form known as“ Abbias”. It is a carving, done on dried fruit skins. These carvings depict the African way of life and sculptures of animals and African men are also visible in these intricate designs. There also existed a game of Abbias art in this museum.
Situated since 1964 in the present building, the collection of Benedictine Museum of Mont-Febe has grown to a large extent. The collection in this museum is all because of Farther Luitfrid Marfut. He showed keen interest in Camerounese art and started gathering many artifacts of Camerounese civilization. Most of the items of this museum symbolize the art form of the various ethnic groups of Cameroon namely Bamileke, Bamoun and Tikar.
