Abn Amro Holding

ABN AMRO, the largest bank in the Netherlands was established in 1824

when King William-I issued a royal decree creating Nederlandsche Handel-Maatschaapii (NHM). In the year 1964, NHM merged with De Twentsche Bank to form Algemene Bank Nederland (ABN). In 1991 Algemene Bank Nederland and Amsterdamsche-Rotterdamsche Bank (AMRO) merged to form ABN AMRO Bank.

ABN AMRO Holding N.V., a holding company is listed on Euronext Amsterdam and the New York Stock Exchange. Its main subsidiary is ABN Amro Bank N.V. The bank has an operation over 60 countries with more 3000 branches.
