Charles Nkazamyampi is one of the eminent athletes of Burundi but has now retired from the world of sports. Born on November 1, 1969 Charles Nkazamyampi was a middle distance athlete of Burundi and participated in various Olympic Games. At the World Indoor Championship event, he won a silver medal in the 800 meters category. The undying passion for sports was present in Charles from a very young age and despite many personal drawbacks he emerged as a winner in his career.
Charles Nkazamyampi is basically from Bujumbura (Burundi) and has suffered a lot from the racial conflicts which occurred in his country. Charles lost his parents at a very early age but his undying passion for sports has made him survive despite the unfavorable circumstances.
Charles won various medals at the African Track Championships and he also acquired a literary scholarship from France. The stupendous performance of Charles at the Olympic Games of Atlanta is a memorable event of Burundi's sport history. The foundation of “la Fondation Sport et Culture Pour la Paix” in the year 2002 is a special contribution of Charles to his country.
Charles Nkazamyampi is at present one of the senior members of Burundi athletic team and his power packed performances in the past have made him an international sports celebrity.
