Burundi free schools are the ideal resources of providing free of cost education (primary level) to the children of Burundi as well as to increase the nation's awareness towards education. The reconstruction process in Burundi is gradually speeding up and after 12 years of continuous civil war, a new democratic government has been set up. The President of this new government has pledged to provide free education to children and hence the free schools of Burundi have been set up.

Malnutrition, diseases, AIDS, child abuse and rape increased manifold and had a drastic effect on the children of Burundi. Later on, after the formation of the new government system all these impacts were largely controlled.
