Bam, Burkina Faso is one of the 45 provinces in the country. There are six different departments in, which Bam is distributed. The names of the departments are as follows:

- Tikare
- Bourzanga

Kongoussi is also the capital of
Bam province. Located at latitude of 13° 22' 0" north and longitude of 1° 31' 0" west,
Bam in Burkina Faso is located at an altitude of 294 meters above sea level. Apart from the above mentioned departments, the various towns that come under Bam province include Malou and Ganes. Bam is located in close proximity to several other towns and cities of Burkina Faso like Darbiti, Darigma, Pouni, Loulouka, Tagyama, Kora, Tourcoingbam and Loa.
Bam of Burkina Faso is also renowned for the beautiful
Bam Lake. It is a natural lake in the West African country. The lake is over exploited and over used by the common people of the area.
Government and several other organizations have taken steps and rapid action to save the beautiful lake in Burkina Faso from the trouble of the desertification and loss of marine ecological balance. The lake is the lifeline of many people in the Bam city and life without it will become quite difficult for many people in Burkina Faso.
