The
Burkina Faso National Assembly is unicameral. Burkina Faso National Assembly is the legislative body of the country of Burkina Faso. There are 111 seats in the
National Assembly of Burkina Faso. The members of the national assembly are elected by general voting process.
The members of the National Assembly are elected through common franchise and they serve the tenure of five years. In the year 1995, the National Assembly of the country became the lower house of the parliament of Burkina Faso, which bears the structure of a bicameral Parliament.
The elections for the National Assembly were held in the year 2002 on 5th May and after that again in the year 2007. Some of the political parties that contested at the elections of the National Assembly at 2007 were:

The constitution of Burkina Faso was established on 27th November, 1960. According to that constitution, the National Assembly needed a strength of 50 members. A new constitution was adapted in the year of 1977. This constitution was democratic in nature. The amended constitution called for 57 members in the National Assembly.
