A large number of
trade unions of Burkina Faso have developed in the country over the years. These Burkina Faso trade unions look after the rights and the conditions of the laborers. The law in this country in the western part of the continent of Africa allows the workers to organize trade unions. These trade unions usually fight for the better pay and working conditions of the laborers. Except the army personnel and the police, all people in Burkina Faso have the right to join the trade unions.
The
trade unions in Burkina Faso have also played important roles in the formation and stabilization of the government of the country. There have been a number of cases in which the President of the country has been supported by the trade unions of Burkina Faso.
The country of Burkina Faso is a member of the ILO or the International Labour Organization. There are three major trade unions in Burkina Faso. These are the following:
- CNTB or National Confederation of Workers of Burkina
- ONSL or National Organization of Free Trade Unions
- CSB or Trade Union Confederation of Burkina
All the major trade union groups of Burkina Faso are affiliated with the ITUC or the International Trade Union Confederation. These trade union groups of Burkina Faso play an important role in determining the government of the country.
