Brunei -Science and Technology is rapidly progressing with each passing day. Modern technological developments are revolutionizing the entire platform of science and technology in Brunei. Two leading institutes continuously uplifting the Brunei-Science and Technology are namely the Brunei Darussalam National IT Council (BIT) and Sabah IT Council (SITC). They have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and they are the pioneers of Science and Technology of Brunei. The Sabah IT Council (SITC) was established in July 1996 and it emphasizes on creating an information rich society.
The Brunei Darussalam National IT Council (BIT) was established in October 2000. It is the main backbone for developing and facilitating the state-of- the-art IT development for the whole nation. The BIT council implements the IT strategies and this mainly deals in public sector and private sector and is inclined towards electronic government and paperless society.
These two organizations deals with the development in telecommunications as well as Internet related applications by offering an interactive pool of resources. These organizations co-cooperate for the development of each other's requirements and stresses on fulfilling the vision of Information technology for the entire nation of Brunei and State of Sabah, Malaysia. Thus the future of Brunei-Science and Technology looks quite promising with the constant effort of these major backbones of the nation.
