Greenwich in London is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It rests on the banks of the River Thames, in London. Greenwich's importance and fame lies in the fact that it is the reference point for the world's time. The Prime Meridian, longitude 0 , passes through Greenwich. It was founded by Charles II in 1675. The observatory houses the clocks designed by John Harrison to determine the longitude at sea. The four time galleries, namely Time and Longitude, Time and Greenwich, Time and Society, and Time and the Navy are all housed in this observatory.

Other major tourist attractions of Greenwich include the Greenwich Park, which is London's oldest enclosed royal park. The Cutty Sark, the fastest sailing ship of the yesteryears, is docked in the dock area of Greenwich. The Wernher Collection at Rangers house is also a storehouse of rare art objects.
