Prince William Britain



Prince William, the elder son of Prince Charles and Princess Diana, was born on 21 June 1982. As the grandson of Queen Elizabeth II and son of Prince of Wales, Prince William Arthur Philip Louis is second in line of succession to the throne of Britain. On 4th August 1982, he was baptized by the Archbishop of Canterbury. When he was a child, he was fondly called Wills and Wombat by his parents.

Prince William completed his schooling from Wetherby School in London and Ludgrove School in Berkshire. Then he joined Eton College where he studied biology, geography and history to complete his A Level of education. After the completion of his schooling, William took a year long break during which he visited places like Belize and Chile. Alongside, he worked on British diary farms and explored several countries of Africa. In 2005, Prince William earned his graduation in Geography from St Andrews University of Scotland.

Prince William joined the Royal Military Academy Standhust as an Officer Cadet. On December 2006, in presence Queen Elizabeth II, he was commissioned as an army officer. He joined Blues and Royals as a second Lieutenant where he is also known as Cornet William Wales. In 2005, William visited the World War II commemoration in New Zealand as a representative of Elizabeth II. He acquired job experience at Chatsworth House in the estate of Duke of Devonshire and HSBC group in London.

Prince William of Wales is involved in lots of charity programs for the development of his country. Most of these programs are targeted at the distressed people and underprivileged children. A major part of this charitable wealth is funded by The Duchy of Cornwall Estate.

To learn the wider aspects of Army role, Prince William engaged himself for two weeks in General Staff Chief's office in Whitehall. In this training session, he was provided a detailed idea on the structure of the Army, including its personnel management, recruitment and training. He completed the training on 14th December, 2007. In the course of his training, he paid a visit to the Whitehall Ministry of Defense headquarters to learn the functions of the Ministry.

In January 2008, Prince William will undergo a training session in the Royal Air Force for four months.
