Buckingham Palace serves as the British Monarch's London residence as well as the administrative center of the British Monarchy. It is only when the Queen pays her yearly visit to Scotland, in the months of August and September that visitors are allowed to explore the nineteen State Rooms of Buckingham Palace.

Another crowning glory of the Buckingham Palace is its garden. Over three hundred and fifty species of flora adorn this garden lying to the southern part of the Palace.

Buckingham Palace Guard

Buckingham Palace has been guarded by the Household Troops since 1660. This troop consists of seven Regiments that include The Grenadier Guards, The Scots Guard, The Welsh Guard, The Coldstream Guards and The Irish Guards belonging to Foot Guards and The Blues and Royal and The Life Guards of The Household Cavalry Regiment. An important event at Buckingham Palace is the Changing of the Guard that unfolds in a characteristic ceremonial fashion. The entire exercise lasts for about forty five minutes.
