Brazil soccer history

Brazil soccer history dates back to the end of the nineteenth century. There are few versions regarding the origin of soccer in Brazil. Some favor the version that Brazil soccer history started with the landing of the British and Dutch sailors in the land of Brazil in the second half of the nineteenth century. Some say that the original inhabitants of Brazil learned the game of soccer from these British. The British and Dutch sailors used to play the game of soccer on the beaches of the North-eastern coastline.

The other version of the Brazil soccer history claims Mr. Hugh as the father of soccer in Brazil. Some sources say that Mr. Hugh was the first person in the land of Brazil to teach the game of soccer to the workers on the São Paulo Railway in Jundiaí in 1882. But, few other sources favor the notion that it was Mr. John who was the first tutor of soccer in Brazil. He taught the Leopoldina Railway workers to play the game of soccer in 1875 or 1876.

Another story is very popular behind the origin of soccer in Brazil. It says that the Brazil soccer history owes its origin to Charles William Miller. He was born in Brazil in 1874. But later for his studies, he was sent to England where he came in contact with the game of soccer. Later when he returned to Brazil in 1894, he brought with himself the art of soccer and the soccer equipments. The record of Brazil soccer history says that the first official soccer match at Brazil was played in São Paulo at the Várzea do Carmo in the year of 1894.

The Brazil soccer history has been enriched by the skillful play of the Brazilian soccer players in World Cup matches. Brazil has won World Cup Football title for five times till 2006.
