Brazil Flag History

Brazil Flag History witnessed several changes ever since its inception. The first Brazilian National Flag appeared officially as early as 1889, on November 19, with a constellation of 21 stars displayed on it. These 21 stars were accepted by Decree Number 4 passed by the Provisional Government of the Republic of the United States of Brazil, on the very same the day the flag was made public.

The yellow-green color combination of ancient Brazilian Flag recalls the fierce battles fought in that period as well as the glorious triumphs earned through active participation of the armed and naval forces. At present times, these colors are indicative of the fact that the autonomous Brazilian government symbolizes eternity and integrity. The stars according to Brazil Flag History, are arranged as per their individual astronomical positions.

The Brazil Flag History in 1960 June experienced substantial changes with the inclusion of one more star in the existing constellation. This new star found its location under the letters on Brazilian Flag, between M and E on the white strip. Some consider this 22nd star to be Alpha Hydrae.

Brazil Flag History observed a further addition in the total number of stars yet again on 28th May, 1968. With the addition of the 23rd star, the total constellation appearing on the Brazil flag seemed to correspond with the sky view of Rio de Janeiro.

Unlike the stars found on the national flag of America, all individual stars on the Brazilian flag symbolize specific states in Brazil. In fact, Brazil Flag History is mostly about the incorporation of stars, for representing the individual states existing on Brazilian mainland.
