Brazil history

Brazil history dates back to 1500 when it was founded by Pedro Alvares Cabral and claimed it as a part of Portugal. He named it as Vera Cruz. Though the fossil records which were found in Minas Gerais reveal the evidence that Brazil has been inhabited by various races for 8000 years.
Brazil has been invaded by different countries in different times. Once France invaded Brazil in Rio de Janeiro while in certain point of time Brazil was invaded by the Netherlands in Recife. But the Portuguese colonizers took control of Brazil in 1600s.

The Portuguese lord started the Hereditary Captaincies system to ensure the stay of Portuguese in the land of Brazil. Under the Hereditary Captaincies system, Brazil was divided into fractions of land which were donated to the Portuguese noblemen. These Portuguese noblemen were accountable to the king of Portugal. The noblemen were assigned the task to occupy the greater lands of Brazil. But the king of Portugal soon discovered that the system was not paying and henceforth, the king took direct control of the captaincies.

The Portuguese were in earnest desire to find gold and silver in the lands of Brazil. But this exploration failed and they turned their attention to the agricultural products like tobacco, cotton, cachaca, sugarcane. Sugar was the prime product that earned revenues by exports to the European countries. The Brazil history took a turn when the Bandeirantes discovered gold and silver in the state of Minas Gerais.

The Brazil history made a new shift when Brazil won independence from the Portuguese colonizers on September 7, 1822. Presidential Federal Republic type of Government started operation though with few political disturbances at times. Brazil has won fame in the map of world because of their natural resources, natural beauty and soccer.
