Brazil Jazz or Brazilian Jazz mostly comprises of bossa nova, which is a mix of samba and jazz. This form of music began to get recognition during the early 60s and today it has become very popular not only with Brazilians, but with music lovers across the globe.

Other musicians who were pioneers in this field include Antonio Jobim, Kevyn Lettau, Celia Mara and Eliane Elias and Sergio Mendes.

Today, Brazilian jazz musicians are renowned worldwide. Bossa nova is generally performed on classical guitar having nylon strings, and it is played with fingers instead of using a pick. The guitar mostly plays the underlying rhythm of the music. Piano is another important instrument, used in Brazilian jazz music, though it is not as important as the guitar. Basically, the piano serves as the stylish link between jazz and Brazilian bossa nova.
