Central Kalahari Game

Central Kalahari Game is the second biggest game reserve across the globe and is located in the heart of the country of Botswana.
The Central Kalahari Game is famous for its vast open plains, ancient riverbeds and saltpans. The Central Kalahari Game in Botswana is most densely wooded in its southern regions, with a variety of sand dunes and a huge diversity of trees and shrubs in the northern areas. The central area contains the flat bushes while the eastern and southern areas are blessed with the Mopane forests. The annual rainfall measures around 170 to 700 millimeters and hence vegetation is quite sparse and sporadic.

The northern half of the Central Kalahari Game is the most frequently visited region since the major portion of wildlife is concentrated there. Game like brown hyena, giraffe, warthog, wild dog, cheetah, leopard, blue wildebeest, lion, eland, kudu, red hartebeest, gemsbok and springbok are found in the large numbers at the Central Kalahari Game of Botswana. The optimum time to visit Kalahari Game at Botswana is during the months of December to April, since at that time, most of the animals huddle together in the nearby pans and valleys.

The Central Kalahari Game at Bitswana can be accessed from Matswere via Rakops which, in turn is easily accessible from Maun and Mahalapye.
