More than half of the population of Botswana follows the religion of Christianity. Majority of the Christians in Botswana are members of
African Independent Churches, Methodist Church of Southern Africa and United Congregational Church of Southern Africa. Christianity in Botswana is the predominant religion among most of the people in the country. In the recent times, the number of Pentecostal churches is increasing. These churches organize prayer meetings throughout the night. Some of the famous churches are Christ Embassy, Pentecostal Holiness Church, Apostolic Faith Mission, Good News Ministries, Pentecostal Protestant Church and Assemblies of God. The growth and development of Christianity helps in establishing this religion in the minds and heart of the native people. David Livingstone is considered to be one of the first missionaries, who planted the seeds of Christianity in Botswana.

The churches here arrange gatherings during special occasions or festivals to worship under the name of Evangelic Fellowship of Botswana. Devotion and honest confession are the basic tenets of Christianity. The followers of Christianity pray to their supreme power-Jesus Christ with utmost devotion and dedication and confess their sins and misdoings.
